Ms. Sutton consistently shows-up to parent town halls with a sour face and complete lack of empathy towards the heartfelt pleas of her community and most importantly - the students. People always assume that she has had the absolute worst day ever, because she looks miserable at all times. She's great though - always has my back when it comes to pushing through the ECLC!

Mr. Utz is quite possibly the most arrogant and self-absorbed board member that I have ever worked with. Mr. Utz is quite possibly the most arrogant and self-absorbed board member that I have ever worked with. He just has a way with body language and posture that tells anyone speaking to him that he really is the smarter and more informed person in the room. He wore a shirt that read "I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you" to a recent fundraiser for Talley Street Upper Elementary School. That really had me laughing! (Inside joke - WINK WINK)

Mr. Herndon is exceptionally special. At a February 2024 Board Work Session, Mr. Herndon stated on the record that as a financial advisor, he buys and trades CSD bonds — and that he must therefore recuse himself from bond-related votes. Well, he doesn't let that commitment stop him!!!

in October 2025, the recorded video of the board meeting shows Mr. Herndon voting in favor of using the PFA to fund ECLC construction and Decatur High School renovations. But he's a sly guy - he actually went backed and changed the meeting minutes to show that he didn't vote!
I can always count on James to vote YES TO THE ECLC!
